David B. Wasson, CIC

Sales Executive

With over three decades of experience in insurance, Dave started by joining Wasson Insurance Agency, Inc. in 1991.  He then became President in 2010 until 2025, when the agency merged with Gunn-Mowery, LLC.

Graduating from Penn State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Insurance with an emphasis in accounting.  Certified Insurance Counselor classes began soon after and the designation was achieved in 1993, then he became Tenured CIC in 2023.  Previously, he has served as President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Centre County and served a six-year term for the Insurance Agents and Brokers of PA, MD and DE on their Board of Directors, while also participating on the MAP and Legislative Committees.  Dave has also been a Board Member since 2010 of the Centre County Mutual Insurance Company and is currently Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer of the company.  Dave is also a Notary Public since 1995.

Beyond the office, Dave has been Councilman/Chairman for College Township Council (like “mayor” of Beaver Stadium), Exalted Ruler of the State College Elks Lodge, President of the State College Lions Foundation (also received the coveted Melvin Jones award for service to the community, the highest for Lions Clubs), Victor Grange #159, Penn State Alumni Association, Nittany Lions Wrestling Club, Nittany Lion Club, Centre Hills Country Club and other community volunteering through the years.

When not working, Dave can be found golfing, volunteering, attending home and away Penn State football games and travelling with his college sweetheart and soulmate wife Melissa, married for over 30 years with two adult sons who have left us empty nesters.
