Melissa B. Wasson, M.Ed, CISR Elite

Commercial Account Executive

Melissa has been with Wasson Insurance Agency, Inc. for 27 years until joining Gunn-Mowery when the two agencies merged in November 2025.  She started by working in Crop Insurance and commissions. She then became licensed and earned the CISR Elite designation while servicing commercial and personal lines clients.   

She graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies and then completed her master’s degree in School Counseling also from Penn State University.  She worked in the Centre County schools as a counselor while also working at Wasson Insurance Agency, Inc., for many years. She has volunteered for years with the State College Lions Foundation, Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts and Elks Club.

Melissa loves spending time outdoors, golfing, hiking, gardening and traveling when not working.  She enjoys going to Penn State football games home and away in their motorhome.  She has been happily married to her college sweetheart and soulmate, Dave since 1995 in addition to working with him!  She misses her two grown sons and loves to travel to visit them across the country.
