Linda Willis, Sales Executive at Gunn-Mowery, LLC, will be honored as Person of the Year by the Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership at their annual Tribute Dinner on October 25th.

Many know Linda Willis from the insurance industry. Right out of Mechanicsburg High School, she worked at the Paul Sopensky Agency in a building she now owns at 73 W. Main Street in Mechanicsburg. When the then-owner decided to retire, Willis found herself as the new owner of what became Mechanicsburg Insurance Services Limited. In 2004, Linda’s agency became so successful that it was bought by Gunn-Mowery, LLC. Linda has been an instrumental part of the Gunn-Mowery team, handling insurance ranging from commercial, personal, benefits and her personal niche, agriculture. Last year, Linda was recognized by The Society of Certified Insurance Counselors for her 35 years of committed professional leadership and advanced knowledge.

It’s not all about insurance for Linda—she has been keenly involved on the boards of the Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg, Joseph T. Simpson Public Library (President), Cumberland County Library System Foundation and the Wildcat Foundation. She has made promoting small business her business as a member of the Mechanicsburg Borough Commercial Rehabilitation Loan Program committee.

The dinner will be held at the Mechanicsburg Club beginning at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2018. Proceeds from the tribute dinner will benefit the partnership’s work funding downtown events, storefront improvements, beautification efforts and marketing initiatives.
